🌱 About Beginning Again

Beginning Again is a Cumbria-based charity supporting ex-offenders and those at risk of offending. Through mentoring, practical support, and work-based opportunities, we aim to reduce re-offending and help individuals rebuild their lives.

🚀 About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and driven Executive Officer to lead the next phase of the charity’s development.

Working closely with the Trustee Board, you will play a key role in:

Developing and delivering the charity’s strategy

Building partnerships with probation services and local organisations

Expanding projects across Cumbria

Securing funding and supporting grant applications

Leading and inspiring volunteers and staff

Acting as an ambassador for Beginning Again

👤 About You

This role would suit someone who:

Has experience in leadership, charity, or community-based roles

Is passionate about reducing re-offending and supporting rehabilitation

Is confident building relationships with partners and stakeholders

Can work independently in a flexible, home-based role

Shares the values and ethos of the Christian faith

🧠 Key Skills & Experience

Essential:

Leadership and team management experience

Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Experience working with or managing people/volunteers

Ability to develop strategy and deliver outcomes

Understanding of issues relating to crime and rehabilitation

Desirable:

Experience working with funders or grant applications

Knowledge of the criminal justice system

Experience in training or facilitation

📍 Additional Information

Travel across Cumbria is required

Enhanced DBS check will be required

Flexibility is essential in this small charity environment
